1976 The company FERNFRACHT Gimmelsberger, Int. Speditions-und Transport GesmbH CO. KG, was established in November of 1976.
1978 Purchase of the first truck to transport hanging textiles.
1979 The company became a GesmbH & Co. KG, whereas the GesmbH holds the management of the KG. Wilhelm Gimmelsberger is managing partner in the GesmbH, single limited partner of the KG and founder of the company. Expansion of the predominant transportation links to Germany and Turkey with the transport of hanging textiles to the Balkan states and North-Africa.
1980 The company has moved from its original headquarters, Funkerstrasse 3, 5020 Salzburg to the newly purchased office in Alois- Stockinger-strasse 16, 5020 Salzburg.
1983 A revolutionary step at this time: a booking machine was purchased. It carried out conversions of hand-accounting to magnet accounts.
1986 Acquisition of a networked database (Oracle), conversion of the financial system and START of the individual development of our forwarding software. Relocation to the newly built office building in the Eugen-Müller-Strasse 5, 5020 Salzburg.

1995 Training of in-house apprenticeship started.
1998 Transition to a networked PC system with Windows operating system. Mr. Hans Burgstaller (company Eco-Soft, 5020 Salzburg) was asked back then to develop our forwarding software and to run our IT sector.
2006 According to article III of the Reorganization Tax Act the company FERNFRACHT Gimmelsberger Internationale Speditions-und Transportgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG is with retroactive effect from 01.01.2006 brought into the already existing FERNFRACHT Gimmelsberger Internationale Speditions-und Transportgesellschaft mbH. All rights and obligations from existing contracts are taken over.
2009 Renovation of our headquarters

2010  First steps towards a paperless office. All business procedures were documented, realigned and displayed in a document management software.
2011 Effective as of 07.01 2011 Mr. Roland Gasser, in addition to the existing manager Mr. Wilhelm Gimmelsberger, is appointed manager of the company FERNFRACHT Gimmelsberger, Int. Shipping and Transport GmbH. In cooperation with the company Docuware and the company Eco- Soft GmbH from Salzburg, a DWMS (document workflow management system) was successfully integrated. From this point on the dispatch department turned 100% paperless.
2012 The years 2012-2016 were and are totally dedicated to new technologies, digital and transparent processes. The linking and grouping of internal and external information, user-friendly for process decisions and process handling. Automatization in accounting, management, payments and loading device management. Automatization in mail delivery.
2016 We celebrate our 40th anniversary.
